The Windrush Play
Friday 31 October, 7.30pm
Set in a lively history class, The Windrush Play blends spoken word, humour and powerful dialogue to chart the pride and pain of a generation whose impact continues to shape Britain today.
Performed by young people aged 12-25 who attend Chelsea Theatre’s Acting Workshops, this vibrant and moving production celebrates culture, shines a light on injustice, and questions how little society has changed since the arrival of the Empire Windrush in 1948.
The evening will also include a special performance from members of Chelsea Theatre’s Beatbox Workshop, devised in response to The Windrush Play.
The Windrush Play is written and directed by Steve Macaulay, founder of 2 Heavy Productions.
